T.U.K. Introduces a New Vegan Material

TUK vegan footwear

T.U.K. bows a new Peta-approved collection of vegan footwear made with a new material, TUKskin.

The Southern California-based punk rock footwear brand shows its softer side in the new collection featuring seven core styles, including classic round toe and pointed toe creepers and boots, Mary Janes and the EZC creeper sneaker.

While T.U.K. has been making vegan shoes for decades, the new collection incorporates a newly developed material that offers all of the functionality of traditional leather without the use of any animal based components. TUKskin’s softness provides flexibility and breathability for all day comfort. The material can be easily cleaned with mild soap and water, polished with traditional shoe creams or made water resistant with the application of appropriate waxes.

“We have heard the voice of our customers for many years and done our best to provide vegan alternatives to traditional shoemaking materials,” said T.U.K. Owner and Founder Ian White. “However, it has been a constant challenge to make sure that those products were made from materials that are consistent with our underlying principal of making high quality shoes that offer great value and original style. With the development and adoption of TUKskin, we are very happy to now be able to achieve that goal, and our plan for 2018 is to vastly increase that offering.”

The collection launches at retail this month and sells for $75 to $105.
