Brooks Running launches a new technology within its Levitate silhouette, the DNA AMP midsole, designed to give runners the most energy return compared to other performance running shoes.
The new technology applied to the midsole, available for both men and women, offers the wearer a responsive spring to their step. Created with the chemical company BASF, the new midsole uses polyurethane (PU)-based cushioning places specifically to give energy return. The PU foam naturally expands, returning energy when force is applied. Brooks wraps the foam in a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) skin that resists horizontal expansion in order to give energy back to the runner.
Brooks uses its Fit Knit upper, which uses a circular knit process that gives both breathability and structure in needed areas, while the flexible arrow pattern on the outsole helps runners move more quickly, according to the brand. The knit upper is offset by a chrome finish on the sneaker’s bottom, allowing for some flare.
“We’re pushing the limits of energy return with the new Brooks Levitate and are excited to unveil a shoe that has been engineered from the ground up to provide runners with an infinitely energetic experience,” said Carson Caprara, director of global product line management, Brooks Running. “The Brooks Levitate features our revolutionary new DNA AMP midsole technology that releases energy straight back to the runner, making the experience so fun they might feel like running forever.”
The shoe is available in two colorways for both women and men, with pre-order now available. The shoes sell for $150 with a global launch set for Sept. 30.
