Keds affirmed its “ladies first” mantra with its latest appointment. The brand, a division of Wolverine Worldwide, named Gillian Meek president of Keds, effective Sept. 12.
Prior to Keds, Meek was the senior vice president of product and marketing for The Stride Rite Children’s Group, where her 20-plus years of experience in strategic brand building helped developed Stride Rite’s Made2Play Snoot and Phibian stories. Before joining Wolverine Worldwide in 2010, Meek worked at Reebok and Timberland.
In her new role, Meek becomes a member of the Senior Leadership Team of Wolverine Worldwide. She will lead a team of Keds female executives including CMO Emily Culp, VP of Sales Elaine Dalton and Holly Curtis, VP of Product.
In a statement, Wolverine Worldwide President Richie Woodworth, said, “She has shown nothing but dedication to our organization and has given life to our vision and values. She personally manifests Keds’ mission of empowering and championing others to blaze their own trails to success.”
Meek is also an active member of Women in Footwear Industry (WIFI) and is a co-chair of the Wolverine Worldwide Women’s Resource Group (WRG), in which she supports and mentors women across the organization.
