Model and It-girl Gigi Hadid teamed up with Stuart Weitzman for a limited-edition evil eye-inspired second collaboration, titled Gigi Mules, available in time for the holiday season.
Though the duo teamed up last fall for the Gigi Boot, the pointed-toe mules serve as the first project for Stuart Weitzman’s new Creative Director Giovanni Morelli. Morelli and Hadid updated existing mule styles to show off the model, who’s also the face of the brand’s Fall/Winter ’17 ad campaign, and her personal style and love for the silhouette. The latest additions will also support Weitzman’s charity of choice, Pencils of Promise, a charity that builds schools in developing countries.
“I’ve really been into slides lately and wanted a pair that can take me into fall…no more cold toes! The evil eye is a powerful symbol meant to protect those who wear it from negative energies,” said Hadid. “It’s emotionally comforting and beautiful and captivating to look at. The bright colors are fun and remind me why we designed these shoes—they represent our commitment to build three additional schools with Pencils of Promise. Look good, do good.”
Hadid rolls out two exclusive styles that incorporate the superstitious evil eye symbol. The Eyelove silhouette, offered in ballet (pink) suede and deep indigo suede colorways, with a single evil eye symbol on the right foot of each pair. The second style, the Eyelovemore, features an evil eye pattern on both shoes, and comes in frosted suede. Adding a luxe factor, each signature Gigi Hadid shoebox is lined in shearling, and comes with matching dust bag.
Like Hadid’s first collaboration with Stuart Weitzman, the styles will further the brand’s commitment of giving $105,000 to help build schools in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos with an emphasis on creating elementary education programs within the rural areas of the developing countries.
Hadid also stars in a short film showing off the luxury slip-ons, kicking off the Gigi Mule’s worldwide online retail debut.
The shoes are available exclusively at Stuart Weitzman retail locations and its online store, at Moda Operandi and Lane Crawford. And, in celebration of the star’s second collaboration with Stuart Weitzman, the Stuart Weitzman Soho boutique will transform into a Gigi Mule Pop-Up Shop for a limited time.
The styles are available now and sell for $498 and $598.
