Asics Serves Up a Global Tennis Campaign

Asics launched a global tennis campaign, ‘It’s a tough game. Go smash it,’ starring top tennis player Gael Monfils. The Frenchman, known for his showmanship and athleticism, is currently ranked 15th on the ATP world tour.

The campaign—a series of print, in-store and online ads—is being launched to coincide with the 2015 French Open beginning May 19, where expectations for Monfils are high. In the ads, Monfils wears the Gel-Resolution tennis shoes, an award-winning model of the Asics stability tennis line.

“Tennis for me has always been about enjoyment. So, I’m excited to offer a different perspective on tennis, with the video demonstrating the required skills and intense product demands,” Monfils said.

The campaign’s agenda is aligned with Asics’s global advertising campaign, ‘It’s a big world. Go run it,’ which launched early this year. It also marks the introduction of apparel styles from Asics’ spring tennis Athletes Collection.
