Asics America Corporation has announced a new partnership with Girls on the Run, the after school program that empowers girls grades three through eight by training them to complete a 5K run.
Asics America will provide video content for the organization’s Coaches Portal on topics that support Girls on the Run’s overall curriculum, including injury prevention, running and fitness tips, and healthy habits for girls – all to help the girls prepare for the celebratory 5K that culminates the program.
Additionally, to further its commitment, Asics America will engage its team of elite athletes in support of Girls on the Run and organize meet-and-greets with local councils. The brand will also activate its new partnership at the upcoming 2015 TCS New York City Marathon, where Asics America will serve as the official footwear and apparel sponsor.
“Asics was founded on a humble idea that sports have the power to transform lives,” said Kim Bhesania, Asics America Corporation business director. “We are thrilled to continue to bring Asics’ founding vision to life through this opportunity with Girls on the Run and can’t wait to support these girls as they embark on their journey to become runners.”
